Cheshire Academy: Science Teacher

Cheshire Academy seeks a full-time Science teacher for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. 

The successful candidate will be able to provide quality instruction in various levels and disciplines of science. Ability to teach a combination of at least two or more sciences (Chemistry, Physical Science and Physics) is preferred. Candidates who have a dynamic presence in the classroom, an innovative and open approach to curriculum design, a collaborative approach to teaching, and who incorporate new technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. Interest in or experience with IB science is a plus. Candidates with instructional coaching and/or leadership experience is a plus. Candidates must embrace participation in the entire boarding school experience. 

Minimally, this candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in either chemistry or related field.  A Master’s degree, teaching credentials, and/or relevant teaching experience are preferred.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Advising;
  • Coaching and/or leading extra-curricular activities;
  • Weekend team responsibilities; 
  • Residential/dormitory duties (if housing is provided.)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain an CT “A” endorsement for purposes of transporting students.

School provided housing is not guaranteed for the academic year of 2020-2021.

Salary and benefits are competitive. Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check. School housing is not guaranteed.
